Folk Art Bird - Shovel
I love these birds! They're just so fun to paint. This is a Renee Mullin's bird design - hey gotta give credit to this brilliant artist!
I took the design and painted it on a wooden shovel, and I love how it turned out!!
The shovel is about 24" tall, and about 6" wide. The handle is wrapped in flannel, and it has a jute hanger for easy display. The backside is finished with a country pine stain.
The design itself is painted with acrylics, detailed with pen and ink, and varnished with a wood sealer. You can display this inside or out - but keep from rain, as the flannel will get soggy.

My sweet patchwork bunny is made of 1" sugar pine, (we cut all our own wood), then painted with many layers and colors of acrylics, shaded, sealed, and finished with pen and ink details, then sealed again. It has buttons and bows to add to her cuteness!
She stands approx. 7"h x 4"w.
