| Welcome and thanks for stopping by! Come sit for a spell won't you? My name is Jeannine and I am the resident "paintress" at By Way of Salem, or you can call me "Bag", as in old!, a crazy kook as I like to call myself. 
After having created for others for so many years, it was time to strike out on my own and spread some Halloween havoc!

I live in Washington State, affectionally known as the Great Northwest, or Land of Constant Rain. I have 4 dogs, 1 cat, and 3 horses, and I wish I could have more pets!I have been an artist for over 20 years, dabbling in various mediums; acrylics, watercolors, a bit of oil, and of course sculpting odd characters from paperclay, polymer clay, or papier mache. I also sew and from time-to- time, I may whip up a small quilt wallhanging, or maybe a satchel of sorts. Why? To carry potions of course! I also love to tole paint and cut out my own wood. I'll either do my own design, or I might use a pattern by one of my favorite artists. Painting is my first love, so I always go back to that. As I've mentioned, I've painted for others as well - working for various studios and manufacturers, I've even painted full size carousel horses.

| All of my one-of-a-kind pieces will be signed and numbered, and none will be reproduced exactly the same. 
They are all created and painted by hand which means a lot of hours and thought goes into each piece. Some pieces take as long as 2 weeks to create. I have fun and laugh as I create and bring each character or painting to life with a lump of clay and a dab of paint, in hopes they'll give someone else a giggle too.

| I consider myself very fortunate and grateful for whatever I have, and so a portion of my sales will go to various animal organizations in need. Each month I pledge to give at least 10% from the proceeds of my sales and donate to a charity near and dear to my heart. Please check on my link page for a list of charities.
